Backup Your Data

Backup Your Data
This is just a quick post to remind all of you to back up your data! Backing up your data be it websites, databases, documents, movies, and even photos is such a big deal.
You either spend some time backing up your data or you spend a few hundred or thousand dollars on data recovery, it’s your choice. All hard drives will fail eventually. Most last around 5 years, but some go out after one, and of course some may last for 10 or 15 years. All in all the stated average is around 5 years.
When it comes to a backup medium do not use flash drives. Those things die all the time, and there is no way to recover data from a dead one. Backup on DVD or CD or to some offsite company that offers that sort of things.
I just had a drive fail and I lost a bunch of data that I will never be able to get back. Grrrrrrr…. Just a heads up.
