Why is seo so expensive?

When it comes to investing in your online business SEO is the gift that just keeps on giving. It’s expensive because it will continue to pay out dividends for years and years to come. If you want the best you are going to have to pay big bucks.

How can SEO experts demand such outlandish fees for services? We’ve written on this before, but we’ll detail it again.

Dollar for dollar money spent on a proper seo job is going to pay out way better than any advertisement campaign you may run. $1,000 on an ad campaign may get you a 10 thousand visitors this month. On the other hand a $1,000 dollars spent on seo may bring you 10 visitors this month as well, and next month, and the month after that, and so on. Make sense?

Why does SEO pay out better on the long haul?
SEO work that consists of page “rewrites”, backlinks, and maybe even social bookmarking submissions to sites like LinkSnapr, and Digg will permanently increase your presence and ranking in the major and minor search engines. This results are increased traffic, increased exposure, and hopefully increased profits.

You should be wary however,  not all SEO’s are created the same. Ask for a list of past clients, and contact those clients. Just like hiring a roofer, painter, a lawyer, or a cpa, you need to realize that there are good painters, and there are bad painters. If the painter in question made your neighbors house look like crap, chances are he’ll do the same to yours.

SEO Tips for WordPress

Wordpress

Wordpress

When it comes to SEO and blogging there is no better step than to use WordPress. WordPress kicks search engine ranking butt by itself, but when you start adding SEO plug-ins like the all in one SEO pack then you really start to see the difference.

With the thousands of SEO and other plug-ins available to webmasters from the WordPress community it gets a bit confusing at times.

So where do you start?

Log into your wordpress admin panel
Click the Plugins Option from the bottom left admin bar
Click “Add New”
Type SEO in the box and hit search

Now our favorite plug-in for Search Engine Ranking is “All in One SEO Pack” and we first chose that because of the ratings it had received. Once we had it installed we agreed 100%, it’s awesome.

So assuming you want to try the all in one seo pack click on it and click install, you will then need to choose your settings for the plugin by choosing it on the bottom left of your admin panel.

Im not going to get into the down and dirty of seo, you most likely understand it enough to get by. We will say however that the All in One SEO Pack allows you to rewrite your urls, define you title for each post, define your description for each post, and a little more. It also redirects old non seo friendly urls to the more friendly ones.

So all in all it’s a really simple step, and it works like a charm. Give it a try today, and I bet you’ll see traffic increases from Google within 1-2 weeks.

Adwords and Search Rankings

Google Adwords

Google Adwords

This may be somewhat controversial I believe there is a bit of truth in this idea. I’ve had countless sites that ranked for near nothing until I’ve purchased adwords ads.

The rankings are not gifts from Google for buying ads through them, but rather results of manually inspected site relevancy

If you you purchase ads for “blue widgets” then your ad will be “pending review” after the ad. Or keyword is manually reviewed a quality score is given. It is in my opinion that this score is then somehow used in the search algorithm.
Google would be dumb not to use this data, after they have spent time reviewing a website why not use it. A manually reviewed site must be a more accurate measure of a sites “keyword relevancy” than using backlinks and keyword density right?

Increase Search Engine Traffic (5 Steps)

Search Engine Traffic

Search Engine Traffic

I was writing this quick article to tell you 5 simple steps that you can use to increase your search engine traffic.

Search engine traffic is free traffic for the most part. Yes it takes time to build the pages, and money to buy the software to code the pages, and maybe you bought a few ads on some other site and you think that has helped your rankings. But over all its free traffic. Continue reading …

Don’t Rely on Search

Dont Rely on Search

Dont Rely on Search

Don’t Rely on Search

If you rely on search engines for most of your traffic, then you are walking on the edge. Without a proper service or product to otherwise drive your traffic you may one day wake up and find your traffic gone. Just search for the term “banned from google”  and the 37 Million + results will tell you this is a very common phenomenon. If you are new to this you might say something like my wife did. “Well if you are banned call Google and find out why?” This is in itself a very realistic expectation, if that is Google offered a service like a phone directory. Start digging and you’ll quickly find there is no number, and that’s just how it is. Why you may ask, do they not have a phone number to call? Well it’s a simple matter of economics and roi. (return on investment). Google has no reason to offer this service. It would cost them lot’s of money, and give them no benefit. Me, Joe Blow, and every Tom, Dick, and Harry would be calling all the time wanting to know why our sites didn’t outrank some other site, and the search engine would then become nothing more than a “human powered directory” of data.

So again just a note, if you rely totally on search for your internet traffic, don’t. It’s very risky. Start today working on a different business model.
