ZoneAlarm the #1 free firewall software in the world has just had a major upgrade. We’ve personally used Zone Alarm since 2001 and have never had a single intrusion (that we know of).

Why would Zone Alarm even bother to offer a free firewall program, how could they possibly profit from this business model? Well they also offer a premium version of the free software that has a few more bells and whistles with it, mostly in the form of advanced notifications. While the free version might say something like adobe8.exe requesting internet access, the premium version would tell you that this file is Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 and wants to upgrade. The premium version is around $29.95 and may be worth the cost.

So whats new with Zone Alarm you ask? Why is it “the bees knees”? Do bees even have knees? Well it’s 97% faster, has less erroneous warning messages, and still manages to have increases security. So in terms of and upgrade, its great.
